Sessions

This program will have two in-person sessions to kick-off and wrap up the series. In between, there will be four virtual sessions via Zoom.

You can sign up for yourself, someone else, or for multiple people to attend a virtual session from the same computer.

All programming is free. If you sign up and attend all six sessions, you will receive a fitness tracker at the wrap up celebration in February 2027!

Session 1: Kick off
Friday, May 29th. 11:00am-1:00pm
In-person, Central Green at the Navy Yard, Rouse Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19112

This session will introduce the program and its goals. Participants will receive a 321Go! Kit with exercise equipment and materials to use during the virtual sessions. We will have activity tables to learn about different wellness and health topics. We will have health screenings and resource tables available for participants at this event. Snacks and water will be provided.

Session 2: Choosing Healthy Beverages using the "Sip Smart" Model
Thursday, July 16th. 10:00am-11:00am. Virtual via Zoom

We will learn about the Sip Smart model to choose healthy beverages. This is an easy way to make changes to your daily routine. We will discuss types of beverages and how to make changes and celebrate the changes you have made before! This session will be led by registered dietitians and healthcare students.

Session 3: Mindfulness, Wellness, Stress Reduction, and Setting your Space up for Success
Thursday, September 17th. 10:00am-11:00am. Virtual via Zoom

This session will focus on emotional wellness. We will talk about ways to help reduce stress in your daily routine, and ways to set up your space to help you do the things you need to do and want to do! Topics will be led by a social worker and an occupational therapist.

Session 4: Physical Activity and Chair Yoga
Thursday, November 5th. 10:00am-11:00am. Virtual via Zoom

Taught by a Certified Chair Yoga instructor and teammates from Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, this session will focus on the benefits of exercise for our health. What is considered exercise? Why is it a good thing? How can we stay safe when exercising? We will answer these questions and demonstrate activities. *Be sure to have a clear space around you when logging on for this session.

Session 5: MyPlate — Making Healthy Choices and Substitutions
Thursday, January 14th. 10:00am-11:00am. Virtual via Zoom

MyPlate is a tool used to help see what a healthy and balanced meal looks like. With support of a registered dietitian, occupational therapist, and healthcare students, we will focus on how to create a balanced meal, safe ways to cook in your environment, and using recipes to make meals. Before the session, we will share recipes for you to use, and we will record a cooking demonstration for you to use again after the session!

Session 6: Wrap up Celebration
Thursday, February 11th, 2027. 11:00am-1:00pm.
In-person, Jefferson Dixon College of Nursing, 300 Lakeside Drive, Horsham PA 19044

The final event in this series will be in person where we will celebrate all we have learned. We will have a cooking demonstration and exercise class. Participants will receive a wearable activity tracker as a thank you for completing the program!
